Italian citizens holding ordinary passports are not allowed to work while enjoying China’s 30 day visa free entry policy.
From November 30, 2024 to December 31, 2025, the reasons for Italian citizens to enter China without a visa are limited to business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, transit, and exchange visits. Article 41 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China stipulates that:
Foreigners working in China shall obtain work permits and work type residence certificates in accordance with regulations; No unit or individual may employ foreigners who have not obtained work permits and work type residence certificates.
