1. Determine visa type: Firstly, foreigners need to determine the type of visa they need to apply for, such as tourist visa (L visa), work visa (Z visa), business visa (M visa), study visa (X visa), etc.

2. Prepare application materials: Based on the type of visa applied for, prepare the corresponding application materials. It generally includes the following content:

  • Complete the Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Application Form in China.
  • A valid foreign passport or a document that can replace a passport.
  • A health certificate issued by a health and quarantine department designated by the Chinese governmentor a foreign health and medical institution certified by Chinese embassies or consulates abroad.
  • A certificate of no criminal record certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad.
  • Four recent 2-inch color photos with no hat on the front.

3. Submit application: Submit the prepared application materials to the Chinese embassy or visa center abroad. You can choose to submit it in person or by mail.
