The renewal process of permanent residence permit for foreigners in Beijing is as follows:
No.1 Preparation materials:
1. A valid copy of my foreign passport (original required)
2. Copy of Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Permit (original copy required)
3. Four recent two inch front, bareheaded half body, light blue background color photos and electronic version photos
4. Foreigners holding Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Permit shall apply for renewal within one month before the expiry of the certificate
5. If the content of the Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Permit is changed, the supporting materials before and after the change of relevant information shall be provided
6. If the Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Permit is lost, provide the loss statement written and signed by the applicant himself or the loss report certificate issued by the public security organ in the lost place
7. Foreigners who have been approved to settle in China or who have been granted Chinese permanent residence qualification before the implementation of the Administrative Measures for the Examination and Approval of Foreigners’ Permanent Residence in China need to show their original Foreigner’s Residence Permit
No.2 Submit the application: take the prepared materials to the Exit Entry Administration Bureau of Beijing Public Security Bureau or its designated service place for foreigners to apply
No.3 Review: Relevant departments will review the application materials
No.4 Collecting documents: For those who have been approved, the process will be completed within 7 working days from the day after acceptance (applications accepted on Saturdays will not be counted as working days)
It should be noted that:
1. All certificates issued by relevant foreign institutions must be authenticated by the Chinese embassy or consulate in that country
2. All foreign language materials must be translated into Chinese by qualified translation companies
3. All copies must be A4 size, in duplicate
If the applicant needs to print their Chinese name on the “Green Card”, they should indicate whether to print their Chinese name in the “Other Matters to be Explained” column on the application form. The Chinese name already used in the initial application cannot be changed during replacement or reissue
