Do foreigners still need annual examination after their permanent residence permit?

The permanent residence permit obtained by foreigners in China, that is, the Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Permit, does not need to be reviewed annually.

Foreigners’ Permanent Residence Permit is valid for five or ten years. When the validity period of the certificate expires, the content changes, it is damaged or lost, the holder needs to apply to the public security organ of their long-term residence for replacement or reissue.

Foreigners holding Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Permit shall apply for renewal within one month before the expiry of the certificate; If there is a change in the content of the certificate, an application for replacement should be made within one month after the situation changes; If the documents are damaged or lost, they should be replaced or reissued in a timely manner.

Foreigners’ permanent residence permits in China do not require annual review, but need to be renewed or reissued under specific circumstances.
