How to prove the authenticity of the materials when applying for a foreigner’s work permit in China?

When applying for a foreigner’s work permit in China, the authenticity of the certification materials is mainly achieved through the following ways:

1. Verification of original materials
Upload the scanned copies of the original documents: the original documents and Chinese translations of all paper materials should be uploaded to the foreigner work management service system in electronic form to ensure that they are clear and complete.
Offline verification: During the application process, the accepting institution may require the applicant or employer to bring all original materials to the window for verification.

2. Authentication and Notarization
Degree certificate: Degree certificates obtained abroad must be certified by Chinese embassies or consulates abroad or by domestic academic institutions.
Certificate of no criminal record: It must be issued by the relevant department of the applicant’s country of nationality or permanent residence, and authenticated by the Chinese embassy or consulate abroad.
Other overseas materials: such as certification materials issued by overseas institutions, need to be authenticated or notarized by Chinese embassies and consulates abroad.

3. The translated document shall be stamped with the official seal
Non Chinese materials: All non Chinese materials must provide a Chinese translation and be stamped with the employer’s official seal (excluding passports or international travel documents).

4. Commitment system
High end talents (Class A): For foreign high-end talents, some materials such as work qualification certificates, no criminal record certificates, etc. can adopt a commitment system.

5. Other requirements
Medical examination certificate: It must be issued by Chinese inspection and quarantine institutions or recognized overseas health and medical institutions, and issued within 6 months.
Employment Contract: A Chinese contract must be provided, signed by the applicant and stamped with the company seal.
