On October 26, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin held the 7th talent policy meeting.
According to the meeting, Hengqin will formulate a new talent policy, including more support for personal development and scientific projects. It will give full play to the resource advantages of Hengqin and Macao, so as to attract more high-end talent to come to the Cooperation Zone, promote the building of a high plateau for talent, and provide more talent support for industrial development.
“The new talent policy will highlight the synergy between Hengqin and Macao and attract talent together with Macao. At the same time, for the supportive measures such as living subsidies, the new policy will align with the previous policy and raise the subsidies standard properly,” said Zheng Jun, a staff member of the Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone.
This year, Hengqin launched a series of talent policies, including the preferential income tax policy released in April. So far, the high-end and in-demand talent in 2021 and 2022 have started to enjoy preferential individual income tax policy in the Cooperation Zone.
According to the statistics from the Administrative Affairs Bureau of the Cooperation Zone, in the first half of the year, the total revenue of the industries above the designated size involving sci-tech research and high-end manufacturing, traditional Chinese medicine, cultural tourism, convention and exhibition reached 7.999 billion RMB, up 29.9 percent year-on-year. And the added value of modern finance reached 8.777 billion RMB, up 2.9 percent year-on-year.
