On November 28, a delegation comprising Liu Yahuang, President of the Association of Returned Overseas Chinese Macau, and Vice Presidents Ma Bingguo, Zhang Zhimin, Huang Qiongcheng, and Lu Xiumei, along with several conference guests, visited the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. The purpose of their visit was to conduct on-site inspections of the investment environment during the 2023 Overseas Chinese Supporting High-Quality Development of the Belt and Road Initiative conference, held in Macao.
More than 60 representatives of the Association and overseas Chinese from 21 countries, including Spain, Portugal, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, Australia, and Canada, gathered in Hengqin to see the integrated development of Hengqin and Macao, and strengthen cooperation and exchanges between Macao and Hengqin.
During the visit, Su Kun, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the Cooperation Zone, António Lei, Director of the Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone, Zhang Sheng, Acting Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Division of the Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone, and other business representatives had in-depth discussions with the visiting delegation on promoting industrial cooperation and strengthening trade and business exchanges.
Liu Yahuang said that this visit has enabled overseas Chinese to fully understand the integrated development between Hengqin and Macao, and to have a deep and comprehensive understanding of the environment and policies of Hengqin. The Association of Returned Overseas Chinese Macau will play an active role in the overseas Chinese community to promote the social and economic development of Macao and Hengqin through communication and coordination.
According to some representatives, this visit to Hengqin has allowed them to further understand the trend of integrated development, the business environment, and relevant industrial policies in both Hengqin and Macao. “We look forward to furthering cooperation with Hengqin in the future and seeking more development opportunities.”
