After foreigners change jobs, they need to go through the change procedures of work visas. The general processing procedure is as follows:
1. What the original company needs to do:
Provide a valid resignation certificate that includes the position, start date, and resignation date of the foreign employee, and is stamped with the company seal.
Provide the tax records of foreign employees for the previous year. If their previous work permit was Class A, or if they applied based on four or six times the average salary in Shanghai, they must provide the corresponding tax records when canceling their work permit.
Assist foreign employees in canceling their work permits. Individuals are unable to cancel their own work permits, which are usually handled by the company.
Foreign employees are required to cancel their original residence permit within ten days of resignation.
2. What to do when applying for a work visa for a new company:
Update the information on the work permit for foreign employees. The company must register with the Foreign Experts Bureau in order to apply for a work visa for foreign employees.
Apply for a residence permit for work purposes.
3. List of documents required for foreign employees:
Personal passport of foreign employees.
Academic certificates and supporting documents.
Proof of work experience.
Medical Examination Report.
No criminal record.
Academic certification.
4. Transfer processing time:
Upon meeting the processing requirements, a new work permit can be obtained within 10-15 working days.
If further changes to the residence permit are required, it will take 5-7 days.
The specific process may vary depending on the region and specific circumstances.
