Foreigners who apply for permanent residence in China do not need a doctor’s degree. There are many ways to obtain permanent residence qualification in China, as follows:

1. Outstanding Contribution Category:
-Foreigners who have made internationally recognized outstanding achievements in the fields of economy, science and technology, education, culture, health, sports, etc. may directly apply for permanent residence qualification. For example, foreigners who have won internationally renowned scientific and technological awards and have outstanding influence in the field of international culture and art.
-Foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to China’s economic and social development, such as making outstanding contributions to China’s science and technology, education, culture, health, sports and other undertakings, engaging in public welfare activities in China to make outstanding contributions to the development of China’s public welfare undertakings, and making outstanding contributions to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries, maintaining world peace, and promoting common development, may also apply for permanent residence qualification upon the recommendation of the relevant competent national departments or the people’s governments of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government.

2. Job category:
-Applicants who hold a doctoral degree or have graduated from internationally renowned universities, have worked in China for at least three years, have accumulated at least one year of actual residence during this period, and have good tax and credit records are eligible to apply.
-Having worked continuously for three years in industries or regions that are key to national development, with a cumulative actual residency of no less than one year, and an annual wage income of no less than four times the average wage of urban employees in the previous year’s location; Or work continuously within China for at least four years, with a cumulative actual residence of no less than two years, and an annual wage income of no less than six times the average wage of urban employees in the previous year’s location; Alternatively, those who have worked continuously in China for at least eight years, with a cumulative actual residence of no less than four years, and whose annual wage income is not less than three times the average wage of urban employees in the previous year’s location, and have good tax and credit records, can also apply.

3. Investment category:
-Foreigners who invest more than 10 million yuan in China, have stable investment for three consecutive years, and have good tax and credit records can apply for permanent residence.
-Investing in regions where the country implements measures to encourage foreign investment, where the investment amount, tax payment amount, and the number of Chinese citizens employed meet the prescribed standards; Alternatively, if a high-tech or innovative enterprise is established within the territory of China, with significant benefits and recommended by the competent department of the provincial, autonomous region, or municipality directly under the central government, it also meets the application requirements.

4. Family group clustering:
-The spouse is a Chinese citizen or permanent resident foreigner residing in China, who has lived with his spouse in China for five years after marriage, and has actually resided in China for at least nine months each year. He can apply if he has stable living security and residence.
-Children under the age of 18 who seek refuge with Chinese parents residing in China or foreign parents permanently residing in China; And those who are over 60 years old, have no direct relatives overseas, and have sought refuge with Chinese direct relatives residing in China or foreign direct relatives permanently residing in China, have resided continuously in China for five years, and have accumulated no less than nine months of actual residence each year, with stable living security and residence, can also apply.
